​Bluefin Sound Charters is a full-time Western Long Island Sound-based sport fishing guide service. We specialize in jigging and popping large striped bass. Captain Pedro has carved a niche for himself, providing an experience to anglers like no other by tangling with trophy-size striped bass.
Preferred method is jigging and popping but we"ll do whatever it takes to catch fish. That includes live bait or trolling. At Bluefin Sound Charters, we encourage catch-and-release fishing for the future of our sport, but we will be happy to filet your limit if you wish to keep it for table fare. In the spring, we primarily target striped bass (the best time to catch trophy size). In summer, we target striped bass, blues, and fluke. And in fall, we target tautog, better known as black fish and, of course, striped bass.

Our main fishing grounds are centered around the Western Long Island Sound, along the north shore. This location offers a diverse array of fishing opportunities and fishing techniques. The Western Long Island Sound a beautiful area, offers a much calmer fishing environment compared to the open ocean and can offer some spectacular fishing.

Steiger Craft 255 Miami
The Steiger Craft 255 Miami stands out as the ideal vessel for navigating the waters of the Long Island Sound. With an extra-large
cockpit that accommodates up to six individuals. This boat is equipped with top-tier electronics, featuring a thru-hull transducer, Seadek flooring for added foot comfort, ample seating both inside and outside the vessel, and a full head with a freshwater sink. Additionally, it boasts a large live well, making it the ultimate choice for live-lining enthusiasts.
It is powered by a Suzuki 300 engine. This engine ensures a smooth cruise at 35 miles per hour and a top speed of 45 miles per hour,
allowing you to reach your fishing destination swiftly and, most importantly, safely. The Steiger Craft 255 Miami is truly designed for

Our Professional Captain
Captain Pedro holds a United States Coast Guard OUPV license and operates a full-time fishing charter based in New Rochelle, New York. His angling pursuits have taken him around the world. Although he initially began his fishing journey by targeting trout and bass in upstate New York, his true calling began when he started fishing along
the shores of Long Island for striped bass and ventured into offshore waters to pursue giant tuna.
Captain Pedro's dedication to understanding striped bass and their migration patterns is evident through the countless hours he has invested in studying their behavior and what they respond to best. As
a result, he remains focused on targeting striped bass year-round. He is an innovative angler who constantly learning and applying his techniques. His enthusiasm and deep passion for the sport is
contagious and inspires those around him.
