I was going to let this slide until this fool decided to make an 11-minute video on social media disrespecting me and my charter business, so I’m going to clarify the situation for anyone who wants to hear the true story. He’s spewing out false information about my business, accusing me of going on his page and promoting myself 🤣🤣 That never happened. It was a 12-year-old kid who went on his page and said I was better than him, not me. Instead of blocking the comment or handling it like an adult, he decided to go on a rant about me not the kid who left the comment. He even mentioned that I supposedly follow him around the East River, which is funny because if I did that I’d be wasting all my time since his boat is so slow. This guy tries to intimidate people out on the water all the time, but he’s picking on the wrong guy. He even went on to talk about how he started he’s business at the age of 19 all on he’s own but we all know daddy is why he even started in the first place. He even went into how he supports his wife, his two kids, and her boyfriend what a loser to even bring that up. The rant was way too long to cover everything here. I reached out to him privately, man to man. Like I told him privately, I can’t control what people comment on social media, nor is it my responsibility. This situation could’ve been handled peacefully, but he chose a different route. No one is going to intimidate me or threaten my business. On a lighter note, 2026 is going to be a great year. What an incredible way to wrap up the season! Our annual end of the season/Christmas party @decostas_restaurant with my new marina family was a total hit. After 20 years at my old marina, I’ve never felt the kind of energy, support, and good vibes that this crew brings.

This was the last fish of the season and what a season it’s been.
We actually caught this fish the other day, because today the bass had full-on lockjaw. Between the full moon, the cold temps, and barely any marks, it was one of those grind-it-out days that remind you how fast things can change on the water.

And trust me I know the fish are still around. I used to catch them right up until the end of December with the legend Pete Pearson. But for us, that’s it until next year.

What makes it exciting is knowing that every season writes its own story. Every tide, every drift, every trip is different and the fish only seem to show up bigger and stronger each year.

This week we’ve seen a shift in what the fish are feeding on. Squid has definitely dropped off, and there’s been a noticeable uptick in bunker. Every bass we cleaned had medium to large bunker packed in their bellies. We also found a few mantis shrimp and even some eels mixed in.
